This “More to the Story” episode will premiere on WPBS on Sunday, May 24 at 6:30PM EST, and again on Friday, May 29 at 7:30pm EST. These injustices would not be corrected until 1965 with the passage of the Voting Rights Act. African American and Native American women were often excluded. Despite this massive shift, not all women were given the right to vote. Passed by Congress in August 1920, the measure ended nearly 100 years of inequality and protest for most women. In this year of 2020, the United States recognizes the 100 th anniversary of women’s right to vote with the passing of the 19 th amendment.
